Minisymposium organization

A minisymposium is typically organized by 2-3 researchers and should include at least 5 presentations focusing on a relevant topic in computational mechanics. You may contribute with presentations in your own, or other, minisymposia. As a minisymposium organizer, you are responsible for:

  • Attracting speakers to the minisymposium (after acceptance).
  • Reviewing and accepting abstracts submitted to your minisymposium.
  • Setting up the program (order of presenters) for your minisymposium.
  • Chairing the minisymposium’s sessions during the conference.

At GACM, you may only be involved in the organization of a single minisymposium. You can find examples of previously organized minisymposia at the 10th GACM colloquium here: https://colloquia.gacm.de/2023/program/minisymposia. Please note, however, that the format for minisymposium abstracts is different this year. Specifically, you should submit a .txt file containing:

  • The title of the minisymposium.
  • The names, affiliations, and e-mail addresses of all organizers.
  • 4-8 keywords separated by semicolons.
  • A brief description of the minisymposium topic (150-350 words, including any references).

After submitting your proposal, you will receive a notification of acceptance or rejection. If your proposal is accepted, you can begin inviting speakers to participate in your minisymposium and reviewing submitted abstracts.

Please submit your proposal no later than January 15th (extended), 2025, to gacm2025@tu-braunschweig.de, using the subject “GACM MS Abstract.” If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us at gacm2025@tu-braunschweig.de.

We look forward to receiving your proposal and hope to see you at the GACM Colloquium in Braunschweig.
